MoonFi Launch

MoonFi – a cross-chain/protocol DEX, crypto bridge, and non-custodial wallet for the Cosmos community – launched on September 17.

Users can now trade coins like ATOM with popular cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH without using a centralized exchange.

MoonFi is permissionless, non-custodial, and decentralized and thus doesn’t require any user-side KYC.

Its code is 100% open source and publicly available. Additionally, the Komodo team encourages blockchain developers to fork the codebase and create their own wallet/DEX applications.

Komodo v0.9.0 [Drogon] Network Upgrade

On October 5, 2024, the Komodo blockchain network will upgrade to v0.9.0 [Drogon].

If you are an exchange or developer and run the Komodo daemon, please make sure to update to v0.9.0 ASAP.

This release includes the newly elected notary node pubkeys for S8 (Season 8), along with other important consensus changes and improvements such as KIP0002 (KMD Block Reward Reduction) and KIP0003 (KMD Transaction Fee Burn), both of which were voted on and accepted by the Komodo community.

Komodo Wallet (desktop) v0.8.0 Is Live

The latest version of Komodo Wallet (desktop) includes 28 new crypto assets (listed below) and added trading support for the Arbitrum network.

We are actively adding wallet and trading support for additional Ethereum Layer 2 networks.

Komodo Wallet (web) v0.8.0 Is Live

In August, we launched the latest version of Komodo Wallet (web). This release includes several upgrades:

  • Market Maker Bot: Automate your trading strategies with an intuitive interface for managing trade pairs and orders.
  • Portfolio Growth Tracking: Stay informed with new charts that track your portfolio’s performance, including growth and profit/loss insights.
  • UI/UX Enhancements: Updated themes, streamlined layouts, improved load times, and enhanced navigation across the app.
  • Enhanced Security: New cryptographic validation ensures API integrity for safer and more reliable transactions.
  • Real-Time Coin Updates: Get new coins as soon as they’re available, without waiting for a new release.
  • Open Source Contributions: A new charting library, tailored for cryptocurrency portfolio tracking and market data visualization, is now available.

Komodo DeFi Framework v2.1.0

On August 1, we released the latest version of Komodo DeFi Framework (KDF), introducing a range of significant features designed to enhance the framework’s capabilities.

  • The trading protocol has been upgraded to boost the security and reliability of swaps. HD Wallets have been integrated to enhance privacy and streamline address management for both UTXO and EVM chains.
  • Event Streaming has been implemented to provide clients with real-time balance updates, with more real-time events planned for future updates.
  • Seed Management has been enhanced to ensure robust seed generation and storage. These features are complemented by advancements in the NFT feature, expanded chain support for Trezor, fee improvements, ARRR/Pirate support in browser environments, and updates to the Tendermint protocol that facilitate integration with external wallets.

New Komodo Platform Website

In September, we launched an updated Komodo Platform website that features new page content and designs for our homepage, developer page, and community page.

Crypto Conferences

On September 18-19, the Komodo team attended TOKEN2049 in Singapore and had our own booth. Next up, our team will attend Blockchain Life 2024 in Dubai.

Next up, Komodo CTO Kadan Stadelmann will deliver a presentation at Blockchain Life 2024 in Dubai. He will discuss Komodo’s groundbreaking technology at the KuCoin Stage on October 22 at 15:00 Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4). Also, Komodo will be a Platinum Sponsor of Blockchain Life 2024 and prominently featured in the event’s exhibition with Booth P17.
